Homeowners at The Palms enjoy the relaxing ambiance of a golf course landscape. There are about 100 homes in this community, with eighty of the houses situated around the course. The Palms, established in 1999, is a highly desired place to live and was once the location of a date palm farm.
Homes here range from 2,493 to 6,500 square feet with three to five bedrooms depending on the selected plan. The entrance to this neighborhood is between Monroe Street and Madison, on Airport Boulevard. Many homes are framed by tropical palms and have an attached casita for guests. Residents love the unobstructed views and because of the location and security, living here is very private. Homes feature travertine floors, plantation shutters, and granite countertops. And many have pools, spas, and sparkling waterfalls. This beautiful community is considered to be the gem of the desert and is only ten minutes away from Old Town La Quinta. Golf memberships are not mandatory for homeowners but they are available.
The Palms Golf Club is described as one of the Palm Springs’ true golf clubs. Fred Couples worked with Brian Curley to design a course that was challenging with its daunting fairways and fast greens. The 18-hole course offers 7,020 yards of golfing for a par of 70; it has a course rating of 74.0 and a slope rating of 134. Players love the camaraderie here and the long time relationships that are made. Many professionals have played here including Arnold Palmer, Hollis Stacy, Frank Beard, Jennifer Johnson, and Byron Smith. There are also many senior players from this club that compete.
The Palms Golf Club features dining and entertainment for its members as well as many amenities with workout facilities, locker rooms, covered patio, a pro shop, and private golf instruction.
Schools that service this area include Westside Elementary, Cahuilla Desert Academy Junior High, and Coachella Valley High School.
